Sightsee Near Kas
There are many places to see and visit within a day's journey from Kas. There are a huge number of ancient historical sites throughout Turkey and the Kas area is no exception. There are also places of natural, cultural and geographical interest. There are standard organised trips to some of these places which are often a combination such as the popular Xanthos (history), Saklikent (gorge) and Patara (beach) tour.
Some agencies do specialist excursions which are less popular and therefore more exlcusive such as a trip to a village house in Gombe and Arycanda for a spectacular Lycian Ruin. If you want to visit a particular place, or combination of sites some agencies will organise bespoke trips to suit your needs. Some tour operators also offer long distance trips, some overnight, to places such as Cappadocia, Pamukkale and Ephesus.
With snow covered mountains in the winter, hot sunny beaches in the summer, enough ancient cities and tombs to satisfy ardent archaeologists, an unspoiled, largely deserted countryside and a Greek island just offshore, Kas is an excellent place to take an excursion and has something for everyone.
