I have completed my Hatha Yoga teacher training in Cihangir Yoga, Istanbul, Turkey. I was trained by one of the Turkey's most appreciated yoga teachers, Zeynep Aksoy. I have also attended workshops of yoga master Godfey Devereux and I am very much inspired by his approach to yoga and his Dynamic Yoga style. It is very important for me to create a safe class both physically and psychologically. Thus, I try to invite students' attention to sensations and feelings yoga practice creates within their body and mind, without any imposition. I still continue my advanced trainings on yoga.
I am also a PhD candidate at Istanbul University, Faculty of Communication and currently working on my dissertation. Another passion of mine is swing dancing (Lindy Hop) and I am a member of dance school and company Swing Istanbul, also known as Istanbul Lindy Hoppers. I think my yoga practice, academic studies and dancing life constantly interact with and nurture each other. Although they are totally different things from outside, somehow they have lots of similarities and they all help me in my journey to become “whole”.
