Many years back struggling with a serious weight problem Katy began a tough exercise regime. Experiencing aches and pains she turned to yoga to help. What she found was so much more. Embracing yoga she had a deep desire to learn as much as she could and far beyond just the physical benefits. It didn't take long for yoga to become a way of life for her.
Katy completed a 200 hour certification program at Tymeless Health and is registered with the Yoga Alliance, as well as a teacher training with Doug Swenson and the Mamaste Prenatal Yoga certification. She has had opportunities to learn from great instructors such as Doug Swenson, Paul Grilley, David Newman and others. Gaining a wealth of knowledge in the process. Her biggest influences have been Anna Ferguson, her teacher training instructor, and her wonderful yogini classmates. She teaches a variety of classes. These styles include: Ashtanga-Vinyasa Flow, Soft Form Vinyasa Flow, Yin Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Chair Yoga, Gentle Yoga, kids yoga, pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation. In addition Katy teaches yoga workshops in Partner Yoga, Prenatal Partner Yoga and Yoga Teacher Instruction. In 2007 Katy took Let's Play Yoga kids trainings. She is currently in training for a 500 hour Holistic Advanced Instruction Yoga Certification through Gratitude in Motion.
